I'm flying into Seattle on Wednesday for a week and a half, this time it promises to not be all business, and I've never gotten to check out the Seattle scene before. So throw it at me! What is there to do in Seattle? I'll be moving up that way 6 mths to a year from now, so it will also be helpful to know that there are ways to keep myself entertained. | In respect of my country roots, I wanted to produce a couple country music set lists for Burning Man this year. This seems to be blossoming into a Top 100 (or maybe 200 or 500, we'll see when I get tired) list. Right now I'm at ~40, as it's taking me a long time to conjure up the lyrics or artist or song names I've been rusty on for so long. I cna sing all kinds of things when I hear it on the radio, but dredging it up spontaneously is a little more difficult. And then I get involved researching the history of the artist or song, and then finding the particular version I want of it. So far I have learned I overwhelmingly prefer Texas artists and artists that cross into the pop genre of the era, all the way back to the 50's. I've also learned that out of 100's of versions of Amazing Grace, I only like versions sung gospel acapella by black ladies from louisiana. Or so I'm assuming, as that's the voice in my head and I haven't actually found a version I like. I might settle for a version from the Statler Brothers. I started a country music station on Pandora and it keeps trying to add the Beatles and Pearl Jam and such. Hopefully it's been tamed. It's certainly reminded me of a lot of artists I need to add. | Greetings all you ghouls and gals! I've got some good news regarding the eventual re-emergence of Isolation, Seattle's first and only old-school goth night.
Isolation will rear its head on Thursday July 17th at the Re-Bar. Now, the Re-Bar doesn't have a permanent home for Isolation yet, as they are booked up for the next few months, but a last-minute cancellation afforded me the opportunity to give this place a try. And of all the places I've looked at, they offer the best deal for everyone involved.
So for those of you who have been missing Isolation for the past couple months, please come on out and show your support; it will go a long way towards ensuring a regular home for us all! I can't say when that will be, so be sure to catch it while you can!

| Would you do meth if it was legalized? Hells no. Im screwed up enough without drugs.
Abortion: for or against? For, with the clause it isnt used for birth control.
There's a 2 month old child and a 65 year old man who has the cure for cancer but hasn't had a chance to announce it yet; one of them has to die... which one? Not much of a true choice here. If either died, it would be a loss. A chance of life for one, or a chance to learn from the other.
Would our country fall with a woman president? Gender has no bearing on running our country. Its all dependant on the person who is there.
Do you believe in the death penalty? Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. You murder someone, you deserve to get the same.
Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already? Far as I recall, the medical benefits outweigh most of the dangers. I say do it, but it needs to be controlled and prescribed.
Are you for or against premarital sex? Sex is. There is no more room for argument. A base natural instinct of our race is to procreate and continue the species. Its hard to fight natural urges.
Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized? Without question. Love exists between two people. It doesnt only have to be a man and a woman.
Do you think its wrong that so many Hispanics are moving to the USA? As long as they work, pay taxes, and dont use us as an easy welfare feed, yes. Criminals of any sort should not be allowed in, but with our system in place, its hard to catch those kinds of people.
A 12 year old girl has a baby... should she keep it? Wow, reaching young arent we? It would be up to her, the father (if he admits responsibility, because lets be honest, most guys wouldnt) and the family.
Should the alcohol age be lowered to 18? It was rather stupid to raise it to 21. People who are 21+ can make the same stupid mistakes while drinking as anyone 18-20. Likewise, since you only have to be 18 to be in the military, you should be able to drink at the same age.
Assisted suicide is illegal... do you agree? No. If someone wishes to choose their time to die, let them. Why waste more money keeping someone alive who is in pain or wishes to go with their dignity attached? Why is it we can choose when to have our pets put to sleep, but not our people (if that is their choice)? If people have the right to vote, drink, and drive, then they should also have the right to choose when to die.
Do you believe in spanking your children? As long as it doesnt go to the abusive standard, yes. A smack on the bottom (or 3) should not constitute child abuse.
Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars? A fresh one? No. I fought for this country to keep those flags flying. One that is dirty, torn, in bad repair? Yes.
A mother is declared innocent after murdering her 5 children in a temporary insanity case... opinion? Bullshit. You arent declared innocent if you had "temp insanity". You are put into the nut house until you are competent, and then you stand trial. If you never come out of the nut house, thats a fate worse than prison what with the drugs they will feed you.
Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers? Let them. These are my opinions. They are not cold hard facts. If someone feels they can no longer get along with me just because I am not afraid to speak my mind about things like this, then they will choose to no longer be my friend. - Mood:complacent
